Seasonal Flu Information - How you can protect yourself, friends, and family

2.40% of Jefferson County, Alabama patient visits reported through ILINet were due to influenza-like illness (ILI).
The baseline for this influenza season is at 2.80% .

ILI is defined as a Temperature ≥100 °F [37.8 °C] and a cough and/or a sore throat in the absence of a known cause other than influenza.

Sentinel Site PCR Results

The pie chart below shows polymerase chain reaction (PCR) results from sentinel providers for specimen collected and submitted since October 01, 2023 Specimen is collected from individuals who meet the ILI case definition as described above.
