0.65% of Jefferson County, Alabama patient visits reported through ILINet were due to influenza-like illness (ILI).
The baseline for this influenza season is at 2.64% .

ILI is defined as a Temperature ≥100 °F [37.8 °C] and a cough and/or a sore throat in the absence of a known cause other than influenza.

Data received direct from Jefferson County sentinel providers and from hospital emergency department visits via Alabama Department of Public Health during the week of August 23, 2026. Graph was created on September 3, 2026.


Sentinel Site PCR Results

The pie chart below shows polymerase chain reaction (PCR) results from sentinel providers for specimen collected and submitted since September 28, 2025 Specimen is collected from individuals who meet the ILI case definition as described above.
