Currently, the food manager certifications accredited by ANSI are:
ServSafe is a recognized Food Safety Managers course offered at the Health Department every other month.
A Certified Food Safety Manager Application may be downloaded, printed and completed, but must be brought to the health Department to be processed. Payment is due at registration; the book will be received at that time. All reschedules must be within 2 months. Books are available in
English,
Spanish,
Chinese &
Korean.
To maintain the integrity of the scheduling process, rescheduling is limited to twice. If more than two rescheduling attempts are made, the requester will only have the option of choosing from the eleven other vendors. This policy ensures that food establishments remain accountable and committed to upholding food safety standards.
Knowledge 2-102.11 Demonstration.
Based on the RISKS inherent to the FOOD operation, during inspections and upon request the PERSON IN CHARGE shall demonstrate to the REGULATORY AUTHORITY knowledge of foodborne disease prevention, application of the HAZARD Analysis and CRITICAL CONTROL POINT principles, and the requirements of this Code. The PERSON IN CHARGE shall demonstrate this knowledge by:
- (B) Being a certified FOOD protection manager who has shown proficiency of required information through passing a test that is part of an ACCREDITED PROGRAM;Pf
2-102.20 Food Protection Manager Certification.
- (A) A PERSON IN CHARGE who demonstrates knowledge by being a FOOD protection manager that is certified by a FOOD protection manager certification program that is evaluated and listed by a Conference for Food Protection-recognized accrediting agency as conforming to the Conference for Food Protection Standards for Accreditation of FOOD Protection Manager Certification Programs is deemed to comply with ¶2-102.11(B).
ADPH 420-3-22.02(2)(a), 2-102.11(B) Provide at least one designated person with certification from an accredited program within past 5 years (Priority Category 3 and 4), or verification of attendance of an accredited program within the past 12 months.
