JCDH Issues Hold on Sherman Industries Permit & Cancels Public Hearing

Birmingham, AL, May 31, 2019--The Jefferson County Department of Health (JCDH) has granted a request from Sherman Industries, LLC to place on hold air permit #4-07-2703-001-01 at 3240 Fayette Avenue, Birmingham, AL 35208. JCDH will cancel the public hearing and information meeting scheduled for June 6th at the Birmingham CrossPlex. The Department has placed on hold the pending permit application until a formal request from Sherman Industries, LLC is received. Upon receiving this request JCDH will notify the public before any further permitting actions are taken.

The Jefferson County Department of Health (JCDH) was established in 1917.  JCDH serves as the primary resource for public health issues in Jefferson County. JCDH has four health centers strategically located throughout the county. Vital Records can obtained for birth, death or marriage events that occurred in the state of Alabama.  Environmental Health Services is responsible for Air and Radiation, Food and Lodging, Community Assessment and Community Environmental Protection. Hours of Operation:
All Centers are open 7:45am to 4:30pm. Phone lines for clinic appointments open at 7:00am Monday through Friday.
