World AIDS Day is December 1. It’s a good time to think about the people with HIV who call Jefferson County home. They are our neighbors, colleagues and relatives, yet some of them go without life-saving treatment for HIV. What can we do? Everyone in
our community can help end the HIV epidemic by knowing their HIV status
and getting tested for HIV, educating themselves on the basics about
HIV, and working to end HIV stigma with words and actions. Jefferson County offers HIV testing Monday-Friday from 8:00am-3:30pm. Call (205) 588-5234 for more information.
Also, please join us on Wednesday, December 1, at Birmingham City Hall for a World AIDS Day community event. There will be free HIV testing, HIV education, free COVID testing and vaccinations, and more from 11AM until 2PM. Wear red to show your support!
