Halloween
The Centers
for Disease Control and Prevention recently released guidance for Halloween.
This guidance can be found here.
COVID-19 continues to spread within Jefferson County, and some alterations to
the normal trick-or-treating process are needed.
Jefferson
County Department of Health suggests the following actions:
- Participate in one way trick-or-treating with
individually wrapped goodie bags lined up for families to grab and go while
continuing to social distance.
- Make sure to wear facial coverings under costume
masks. Unfortunately, costume masks are made of very thin material, and may not
provide protection to the wearer and to those around them that a cloth mask
would.
- Avoid large indoor gatherings as this can
dramatically increase the spread of COVID-19.
- If larger events occur, outdoors in the open air
is safer. Additionally, facial coverings and social distancing should be
utilized to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
To further encourage safe social distancing practices during Halloween, JCDH has created a printable image that residents can display. Download it
